Professional reading - critical thinking

I've been doing my own "critical thinking" - it's about time I do more professional reading and keep on top of my professional learning by blogging my thoughts about the article/s I've read.
Upon reading the article 'Teaching thinking skills in schools' from the ACER Teacher magazine, https://www.teachermagazine.com.au/article/teaching-thinking-skills-in-schools and the article's related links, I think we should state our professional reading is Critical and Creative Thinking, and that these skills need to be explicitly taught.
It is comforting to read that none of this is new to our teaching, but we should aim to make sure we are always consciously teaching critical and creative thinking instead of going, 'Oh I'm doing this already,' and not being aware of it like me at times.
Under the sub-heading A changing landscape, the relevance of making sure we focus on critical thinking is most apparent with the following sentence: Education researchers, policy makers and private enterprise agree that, in addition to content knowledge, students in the 21st Century need to acquire particular skills to equip them for a modern world of work, one of which is the ability to think - and think well.
The link to the Australian Curriculum in recognising the importance of the development of these skills is a most worthwhile read - in particular the figure 'Organising elements for Critical and Creative Thinking', perusing the learning continuum and where it fits into our learning areas.

Are we now being brought kicking and screaming into the 21st century - for all to see! Am I just one BIG BLOG? My blog may be just one big Unfinished Symphony or an Einstein moment.
